The Anjodi is of classic Dutch design, specifically rebuilt to navigate the 300 year old Canal du Midi. She has been completely refurbished in the tasteful tradition of African hardwoods, handcrafted panelling and shining brass, creating a comfortable and charming ambience. All cabins have shower cubicle, toilet and basin with tiled walls and floors. The eight passenger Anjodi cruises the Canal du Midi skirting the sunbathed shores of the Mediterranean before winding inland through ancient villages and Roman fortifications in the famed wine regions of the Languedoc. The pace of life is relaxed as you meander along the tree lined route from the lakeside fishing town of Marseillan to the delightful village of Le Somail, taking the world’s oldest canal tunnel at Malpas through the hills. Narbonne, a Roman Mediterranean capital, with its Archbishop’s Palace and Horreum and Carcassonne with its complete medieval fortifications are visited as you sample the full-bodied Corbieres wine of 17th century Chateau LaVoulte Gasparets en route. Please note that children under the age of 12 years are not accepted unless it is a charter booking or a special family departure.
