Day 1 - London/AthensFly with British Airways from London-Heathrow arriving at Athens Airport in the afternoon. Transfer to the elegant Grande Bretagne offering unparalleled luxury in the most central location for a three night stay.

Day 2 - Athens

Today you will be met by your private guide for a full day sightseeing tour of Athens. See the complex of monuments that most symbolise Athens - the Acropolis. The highlight of your tour to the Acropolis will be the Parthenon, one of the most important ancient monuments in the Western world, which was dedicated to the Goddess Athena and conceived in 447BC. Visit the Acropolis Museum, which exhibits sculptures and reliefs that have been recovered from the site. Afterwards you will enjoy a walk through the ancient district of Plaka, one of the most picturesque and interesting parts of the city. This afternoon, continue to the Benaki Museum, a fascinating display of eclectic Greek and Oriental art housed in the Benaki family house. Continue to the Panethenaic Stadium, the pure marble masterpiece that served as the original site for the modern Olympics.

Day 3 - Athens

Enjoy a day at leisure to explore the city further or take time to enjoy the holistic spa at the Grande Bretagne.

Day 4 - Athens/Crete

Transfer to Athens Airport for your 50 minute domestic flight to Crete with Olympic Airlines. On arrival at Heraklion Airport meet your private guide and transfer to Heraklion town for a half day sightseeing tour. Highlights include the Heraklion Archaeological Museum boasting a truly great collection of ancient treasures and the Palace of Knossos - the centre of the Minoan civilisation. Transfer to the traditional Cretan style Elounda Beach Hotel on the Bay of Mirabello for a five night stay.

Day 5 - Crete

Today your private guide will meet you for a full day of sightseeing around the Eastern part of the island. Your tour will begin at the village of Kritsa, renowned for its traditional weaving. See the famous church of Panagia Kera with its beautiful frescoes. Travelling on to Siteia you may wish to climb up to the Venetian Fort for spectacular views across the bay. Enjoy the Cretan countryside travelling south to Ierpetra to visit the Archaeological Museum.

Days 6 to 8 - Crete

These days are at your leisure to relax and enjoy the facilities of your hotel and to explore Elounda.

Day 9 - Crete/London

Transfer to the airport for your British Airways flight to London-Gatwick.
