Mont Rochelle is set high above the Franschhoek Valley, with dazzling views across the vineyards to the surrounding mountains. Much of the hotel's fine reputation rests on the restaurant's award-winning cuisine. Many guests enjoy taking a picnic hamper to eat in tranquillity by one of the estate's streams.
Accommodation
Sixteen rooms and six suites are simply and elegantly furnished, with fresh roses picked from the hotel's own gardens adding a dash of colour in a design which draws in the spectacular views to form part of each spacious room. Underfloor heating softens the gentle winters and air-conditioning to take the edge off the summer heat.
Facilities
In the evenings, an open fireplace and tinkling grand piano form a perfect backdrop to five-course dinners, bringing the estate's own produce to the tables. Other facilities include a masseuse, swimming pool and two stocked trout dams, while riding, hiking and mountain-biking are perfect ways to explore this beautiful part of the Cape.
