FLOATING SAFARIS: On the Boro River from Baines Camp, Botswana.

Botswana is a land where every safari is a journey of discovery.

With our partners Sanctuary Lodges and Camps, we are able to offer you luxury accommodation in the heart of the Okavango Delta and along the Chobe River. The small town of Maun is the gateway to Botswana and the starting point of most Botswanan adventures. Maun is the hub from which you can fly up to explore the Okavango Delta, the largest inland delta on Earth. Africa’s third-largest river starts in Angola and never reaches the sea. Instead it flares out into the Okavango Delta, a rich ecosystem in the heart of one of the world’s great deserts, the Kalahari. The Okavango Delta covers an area of 15,000 square kilometres and is teeming with wildlife. Seasonal variations in water levels means that you can explore via open-sided vehicles or from the water in traditional mokoros or motor boats. Chobe National Park is to the Northeast of the Okavango Delta. Established in the 1960s to protect wildlife, it is now home to some of the largest concentrations of game in Africa, with elephant herds reaching up to 500 in size. Again game viewing can be enjoyed from open-sided vehicles or boat cruises on the Chobe River.
